Sketch-A-Day 2012 Day 12

Fun is good! And this piece is fun indeed! Combining furry, fantasy, and Art Nouveau, this piece has a lot to offer. Actually, what really strikes me with this one is that you've combined star elements up above, a tree line in the background horizon, and a tiger with a cool weapon. And you made him a -taur. These three elements..well, the stars and trees certainly make perfect sense together, but then a tiger showed up and made it seem like a juxtaposed concept

When I think of tigers, I think of jungles, China, and India. The forest in the background, combined with the stars, immediately makes me think of something European or at least Western, hence the sense of juxtaposition. Of course, then I think, "Yeah, but that's a tigertaur and he's got a wicked strange sword, why am I paying attention to those things?" XD

The really really awesome part of this piece? The AWESOME foreshortening you achieved with the tiger body! It looks completely natural and just right!
